Anyone used Atsko water repellant to re-waterproof a turnout?

I just noticed we have a few cans in the tractor shed. I’m about to test the girls’ turnout sheets and blankets to make sure they’re still waterproof before the rainy/winter season sets in good.

I think I’ve used it before fairly successfully but… I heard someone question whether the blankets would still be breathable, even if this spray reinstates the waterproofness.

Anyone know for sure? I’d hate for the ponies to overheat in something that’s not breathable, even if it’s waterproof. I’d rather buy a new turnout.

It’s this one with the orange cap:

There is also this version out there - says “repellant” instead of “water guard” - same manufacturer:

I use it every year. It says “allows leather and fabric to breathe” on the label.

I’ve never had to use it because I use the Atsko-Sno-Seal Sport Wash which has preserved the water proofing on my guy’s turnouts; I did spray one really old Smartpak turnout with Kiwi Camp Dry which worked just fine. It’s a spray that seems to just disappear into the fabric without gunking up the surface, and dries really quickly, but the Atsko spray is probably heavier duty and longer lasting.

I’ve used it for many years on many blankets. It works very well and I’ve never had an issue with overheating.
