My horse are out 24/7 most days (with a run in shelter) so the dark bays tend to get sun bleached. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Absorbine Santa Fe Coat Conditioner and Sunscreen or some other product that I could spray them with to protect from bleaching. It’s incredibly hot here and I rinse them off after every ride, so I am assume I would have to reapply almost daily?
I do use it! I love it, it seems to keep them very shiny and clean without being at all slippery. I find it helps a bit with bleaching (also a dark bay) but not completely - they will still bleach if out in the sun all day. You are correct that you’d have to reapply constantly, and you need to apply a lot for the sunscreen effect to be really useful.
