Anyone using Casiro offspring in their breeding programs?

Or Casiro himself? I saw one of his daughters at the Bundeschampionate a few years ago and can not get her out of my head. Now I’ve just watched a bunch of videos of him, and just love his canter, love his jump, love how he makes going around a GP course look like a peaceful activity. Does he pass those traits on? Any idea if he’s as uncomplicated under saddle as he looks?

(I’m not a breeder, just a window shopper for now.)

I love him, but he needs a certain kind of mare. He is super consistent in his production.

What kind of mare?

I used him last year and got a lovely filly in February. She is elegant and long legged. She is feistier than my 2017 colt by Vagabond de la Pomme out of the same mare. He was unflappable since birth and is still the most chill guy, so I can attest to Vagabond’s propensity to throw ammy brains, but the jury is still out on the Casiro filly. I, too, was impressed by the quality of Casiro’s offspring and the suppleness of his movement and jump. I used him on my SF mare that jumped to 1.40m national prix level. I would love to hear what type of mare Tim thinks he needs as well; I used a trusted breeder friend for guidance on this pairing and I’m thrilled with the filly that resulted from it.

We just listed a 7 y.o. Casiro out of a Farouche mare if that helps anyone out. Search Cassira 9 at the EHJ link below, there’s some pretty spectacular photos and a bit of video from Europe. Just imported in January and already showing with a kid in the Chldrens Hunters. Hopefully we’ll have more video as she shows a bit more.

She’s a looker. Big (17h), loads of chrome, and an absolutely ridiculous front end over fences.

He adds leg and generally good brains. He was very correct, and tends to stamp this on his offsping. I breed for 1.6m so with that in consideration I would use a mare that presents with a lot of blood, but maybe needs some more power and length of leg. They are attractive and intelligent offspring with good movement.
