Anyone using Master Surfaces Texstride Footing

Hi all,

Looking for feedback on the Texstride footing made by Master Surfaces? I’m told it used to be called Eurofelt prior to the companies merging. Looking to use it as a mix into stone dust footing in CT so would love to hear other’s experiences. Thanks in advance!

I have a friend that has Eurofelt. It is mixed with sand - I don’t know what kind of sand. I don’t think it would work very well with stone dust. For starters you need to have certain types of sand to mix with textiles, otherwise they just sit on the top of the footing. Second - I don’t think it would provide much cushion.

I have a textile but not Eurofelt and Premier was very helpful in selecting what kind of sand that would work best. So I would ask the Texstride people if they think their product would work with screenings/ stone dust. From what I have seen of Eurofelt I think it wouldn’t work that well with stonedust. You might be better off with shredded rubber.

I’d agree with Susan. One of our local show venues have Eurofelt/sand mix. It’s very nice footing and has held up well to heavy traffic for several years both in an indoor and several outdoor rings. You do have to water frequently but I don’t think that’s true just of Eurofelt but most textiles. I’ve never seen textiles mixed with anything but sand and typically very specific types of sand. Mixing bluestone with rubber might be a good option. Two other facilities near me added rubber to bluestone and both have done well for many years.

Bumping this up to see if anyone has any more recent thoughts on TexStride footing? Am thinking of putting it in my being-constructed-right-now outdoor ring. Have not yet bought sand yet and will do so based on their recommendations, so not trying to find what an existing sand needs. Just looking for reviews in general. Thanks!

We just bought a new footing from Performance Footing called Noviun thats amazing for our new arena. Id suggest this one and the people over at Performance Footing. I called about Texstride initially and was going that route. But after a bunch of research found it not for me. Beyond some issues people were saying, i didnt want to put more contaminates into the ground so went with Performance Footing. Price-wise it actually wasnt to different and I absolutely love the rebound properties.

So what exactly is it made from? It is “green” and “organic” but what is it. A version of Fibar? Or hogs fuel that used to be used in the PNW? How long does it last before it breaks down and becomes dusty? It sounds interesting but I can’t figure out what it actually is.

Cavecreek – Any chance you have a connection to Performance Footing. You seem to be boosting old posts to reference this footing. Kind of strange. . .
