Apparently block DOES work.

I haven’t determined how, but a few individuals’ posts are no longer visible to me. I cannot, however, recreate that function and am having a hard time even recalling if/how I did it. Which leads me to believe that perhaps the moderators can block certain participants from seeing each other’s activities? Which would be delicious.

If by some chance the function has been restored for public use, and someone can explain to me how to find it again, can you please explain?

TIA.

It has not.

The problem is buried deep in the vBulletin code and it’s unlikely to be fixed anytime soon.

We’ve had multiple threads on this. One is stickied to the top of this forum. Another is six threads down in this forum.

I"m seeing quotes from people who’s original posts no longer exist on threads.
Explain that.

As I am not a vBulletin developer or admin on this board, I cannot. But I am capable of looking at the trouble tickets and understanding that block doesn’t function. I am also capable of understanding that block NEVER worked by just making a poster disappear–it still showed a place for the post with a “you have blocked this poster” indicator.

You should probably provide screenshots so the moderators can investigate the bug you’ve discovered.

Or, simpler explanation, it sounds like the poster deleted their post but it still exists in quotes. Not an infrequent occurrence. All posts can be deleted, except for the initial post that starts a thread. You could duplicate that by deleting your post above that I have quoted here.

All posts from this user are gone. The user no longer exists, after I utilized the advanced search function, searching with specifically their name.
All history of this poster have disappeared, going back --IIRC-- 8+ years.

There’s nothing to screen shot. They are invisible to me.

ETA: There are posts from users I had put on ‘ignore’ prior to the switch to the new platform that also appear in quotes from others, but they essentially have disappeared entirely from my view. Prior to the switch “you have blocked this poster” was something I saw. Presently, it doesn’t even appear that they exist, unless quoted by someone else. Which I’ve mentioned 3x now.

I’m sorry you’re ‘incapable of understanding’ that.

And yet you say you can see their posts in quote, so there IS something to screenshot. So post that or PM moderator 1, if you don’t want to share publicly.

What you’re describing is a bug, not a feature. It’s not ignore and it’s probably not repeatable.

Oh, just had to be sure to quote your super snarky addition here. Lovely, sansena. Just lovely.

[edit] anyone can delete their own posts, sans original posts, and that has happened on a number of threads recently, ie posts were made and quoted, then posts were deleted but quotes remain.

Oh the joy.

@Sansena We still see posts by the user that you referenced in your PM, and can’t duplicate the effect by adding the account to an ignore list. If you PM a link to the thread in which you saw this occur, I can see if the user deleted her posts.

Let’s all tone down the attitude when addressing each other. We’re closing the thread and can continue via PM if the OP would like.
