COTH’ers, and or Texans: what is the best hotel? Looks like the Omni is being recommended by the FEI website, but it seems far away (I’d like to avoid having to get a car).
I live just east of Fort Worth, the Omni which is in downtown is less than 4 miles from the Dickies Arena.
Fort Worth for being a city of a million people making the 11th largest in the country is really like a small town as getting place to place is usually fairly simple making Fort Worth being consistently ranked as a top contender for affordable ridesharing (Uber/Lyft) currently the cheapest in the nation.
The area surrounding the Omni is very pedestrian friendly, most downtown Ft Worth is owned by the Bass family who oversee the area’s security
For straight up walkability to the arena… The Home2 Suites by Hilton is the closest, There is The Hotel Dryce which is about 1/2 mile away and the very fancy, but very cool Bowie House is about the same. The Home2 Suites is the most walkable with traffic/street patterns in my opinion.
When you are there definitely hit the Bowie House for a cocktail if you are so inclined. It’s just a really well done hotel.
As clanter has mentioned, there are a number of very cool places to stay in downtown Fort Worth. It’s a great little/big city! Great dining, safe and fun.
Not to derail but yikes those tickets are expensive! I thought it sounded fun since I am only 3 hours from DFW but may have to pass. Is there a way to buy single night tickets instead of all 3 days?
For past world cups, single-session tickets have gone on sale at some point after the all-session ones. I have no idea how the prices compare to previous world cup tickets–not sure if it’s the world cup, the venue, or the organizer who determine the ticket prices.
Thanks for all the tips! Yes, for the World Cup that was in Omaha, I bought tickets for individual performances, not the whole thing. Even those were plenty of $$$.
