Wow, she has certainly come along nicely! I think you wouldnāt have a problem placing in the hunt seat events with her in the rookie and novice amateur. She would probably do ok in the HMS, as long as you can get her to suck back a bit. She would be a nice showmanship horse too! Put a lead change on her and you could take her in the western riding. For $8500, you should buy her.
I thought the AQHA guidelines now state that the horseās poll shouldnāt be below the withers. Am I mistaken or are judges just ignoring it?
For 5 consecutive strides. Itās not followed.
And still with the running martingale.
The AQHA āguidelinesāĀ and rulebook have said that since the early 1990s. Note these are schooling sessions, not in the show pen. Some school lower knowing they will pick up in the show environment. Though still too low. IMO. It is what it is.
Agree on the martingale, prefer to see them go more on their own to be sure they have the conformational ability to carry themselves without help from gadgets. If the neck set and angle arenāt physically there, they arenāt going to be able to do it by themselves. They have to want to and be physically able to or they wonāt be a rail horse. Might do well in working divisions but, again, they need the build for those to excel.
I actually love this filly and have been admiring her Facebook ads for the last week! People, do not forget that this is a TWO year old! She is going along very, very nicely. I love love how forward she has been allowed to be; so many pleasure horses are afraid to go forward and sink back and that can be so frustrating to fix.
There is absolutely no reason why this filly canāt be an all-arounder and be competitive in the hunter ring. Is she a world beater? Not unless youāre showing pinto, but she is nice and clearly has a great mind.
On her sire ā LOVE him, one of my absolute favorites (and recently listed for sale!). He has such a phenomenal mind and is able to be ridden by their amateur teenage clients quite easily, and quiet enough for their preteen daughter to handle. His oldest foals are still babies, but I really think the next 5 years will be telling for UF, I think heās going to hit it off as a sire. This filly is worth it already IMO, thatās just kind of the icing on the cake if you ever need to resell in the future.
Of the horses you have posted she is the highest quality by far
That looks much better compared to the last video. I would still ditch the martingale. Unless youāre heading to Congress, she doesnāt need to be so framed at this point. Iāve found itās better to adjust expectations during growthy āI need to use my head and neckā phases rather than force the head and neck down.
I would pick her over the others youāve posted, take off the martingale, get her out of the arena, and aim for a fun and low key 3 year old year.
