She sure is good with dogs! Love her myself, but I want a push ride and she’s still at the wiggly green bean in the video. I wonder what she’s like now, since the video linked to is from February.

I actually have a recent video, just have to find out how to upload it

Well, from my POV, she’s is giving a little pitty patty pony trot, not tracking up, and behind the leg. And in the second video she is being trained to fall behind the vertical with some kind of tie down apparatus. Now this may be totally fine for AQHA hunt seat, but it’s just total opposite to what you want in a regular hunter or jumper prospect. I feel like those hind legs are a bit too straight as well, which might contribute to her going short behind.

JMO but she’s got a little too steep a croup and like a deeper hip then it looks like she’s got here. That does effect stride length and ability to track up, rock back and power off the rear to jump or perform well in various WH jobs, even going smoothly on the rail. Also prefer less length in the cannons.

She looks awfully green too, never settles into a relaxed, level pace, keeps adjusting, that’s probably rider but like to see them allowed to go forward and left alone long enough to develop a smooth, even rhythm and level top line whether pitty patting for WP or doing something else. This one is struggling with finding the right combination and staying there for more then 3 strides,

Are you seriously looking to make an offer for her? What level are you currently competing AQHA at?

I don’t like how fussy mouthed she is in the second video. And I’d like to see her without the running martingale.

Just watched the second video and definitely agree I don’t like the fussy mouth and the running martingale likely isn’t necessary. Have her teeth been done lately? Even though I still really like her, she looks like she’d make a nice all round type, I’d like to see a longer stride with better tracking up. She doesn’t have the excuse of being a stretch limo like my mare in my avatar.

How is she bred? I’m getting some ideas from her name. Just wondering if I’m right.

Cute looks more all around than hus to me. Likely will do fine for level one hus though and equitation. Has a nice soft step just don’t know if it will be big enough for the level 2/3 hus.

I like her, she’s really cute! Yes, she could use a little more reach at the trot, but I do like her lope. Can I just remind people that this is a 2 year old? Of course she’s going to be a little unsteady here and there. She’s come along from the first video you posted, and seems like she has a good mind on her. I would like to see the training fork come off to see if it’s a fight to keep her head down. I feel like she’s getting it, but she’s still green (no big deal to me).

I don’t think she’s that fussy with her mouth, she probably does need her teeth done or possibly a different bit. I think she’s a horse you could put in the horsemanship and trail too, if you wanted to do the all around. Like sandsarita said, she would be fine for Level 1 (novice) at the shows, but amateur could be harder to get noticed and placed depending on the caliber of horses.

What would be your goals for this horse if you bought her?

We would be doing rookie and novice amateur HUS and EQ, also hopefully HMS and WP walk-trot.

I think she would be able to hold her own then in the huntseat events then, and be able to get by in the western.

If you care more about riding in the huntseat events, I think she would be a good candidate for you. Who knows, maybe she can be one of those freaky huntseat bred horses that can still look pretty for the western? She is young, a lot can and probably will change as she grows.

I don’t know what your budget is, or her asking price. If she was $5000-$8500, I would take a chance on her, but any more than that I would probably pass. If your budget is closer to 10k, I would let her go as I think you could find something that could be more competitive in both english and western events.

She’s at 8500 obo

For what you are wanting to do I think she could work very well for you. Just remember that it may be a couple of years before you can do much showing besides maybe hus and showmanship, and that training takes more time and money. But for rookie and level one I think she is of a great quality for that and should do fine in horsemanship. But remember that most riders in those classes are on older broke horses. Not that you can’t be very successful on a younger greener horse. It just may be frustrating in the beginning.

And btw. My reference to size had nothing to do with her height. Her height is fine. My level 3 hus horse is just under 16 hands. I meant the size of her step for level 2/3 hus. It may develop to be perfectly fine for that especially at the midrange shows. It’s hard to tell with a baby. But she has a soft pretty stride that will get you far in the all around and rookie/level one classes

At that price and with your stated goals, I’d be making an offer.

So you think she’s worth it?

Well, I said that before I saw that gelding you just bumped up. He would be #1.

But she may be a good #2 if you investigate the fussy mouth a little. But watch both these videos and see if you can pick out what I am talking about movement wise. Help you sharpen your eye either way, Watch how freely he moves his shoulders compared to her. That could just be green, could be rider taking too much away when she does reach out but you and your trainer will need to decide if you can fix that.

Gelding has a years advantage but more of a proven product if he is as shown in this video. Filly needs more work before you’ll see if she has “ it” or not, gelding is there.

But you have to see them in person. Videos can mislead.
