I saw a posting on facebook that the Connemara stallion Ard Celtic Art had passed away today. I was looking forward to breeding to him in the next year or two and was wondering if anyone knows what he died from? The posting does not say how he died, just lots of condolences. I did not feel it right to ask under the fb post.

I have spent the past few days looking at this screen in front of me, not sure how to even start. How do you tell everyone that one of the most constant things in your life has been taken? But I feel it is time for the news to get out so people who knew and loved him can start to mourn. I’ll never forget the first ride I had on the little furry pony. The way he would run up to you from the very back of the pasture screaming for you the whole way. Or how he would take off in a gallop around the ring just for the fun of it while you rode him laughing uncontrollably. These memories I will cherish forever. He touched every person’s heart who met him and instantly became part of his fan club. I am grateful I got to ride him and experience his talent and love for the sport, he was one of a kind. This is one of the most painful things we have had to go through and yet it brings me comfort that he is not in pain anymore. I hope you have the biggest herd of sexy mares up there Art, and are the king like you always knew you were. I love you Fart Fart.
Oh I am so so sorry! I always admired that “little” pony with the heart bigger than most horses out on the xc course. RIP Arty. There just aren’t words

Such a tragedy. He was an absolutely incredible pony. I reread Devon’s post on FB several times before it registered, and I still have trouble believing it. Donna and Devon must be heartbroken… my thoughts and prayers are with them.
