I have 2 older cats and 3 younger cats that showed up as kitten rescues. Everyone was fine for a few years but as the younger ones are maturing the dynamics are changing. If you’re not having true fights with injuries I think you have hope. Mine are so vocal it sounds like a cat is being murdered but zero injuries ever. Here’s what’s helping:
- Comfort zone pheromone diffuser-when it runs out the male cat gets SO much worse
- Multiple feeding stations that are easy to access from both sides
- Lots of water sources all over the house. Two different types of fountains and regular bowls.
- Multiple litter boxes with different types of litter and boxes.
- Catifying! This part is fun. I’ve been slowly adding more options for play, scratchers, cat trees. Look around your house and see what you can rearrange to give more kitty spaces. I’ll be working on a cat wall soon especially with Black Friday coming up.
- Verbally correcting any and all growling, stalking, long eye contact, fights, screeching. You name it we correct it with a sharp NO.
