Are Kask helmets suitable for the hunter ring?

My helmet is nearing 5 years old and it’s time to retire it. I currently ride in a CO AYR8. It fits well but I’d like a liner system for cleanliness reasons. I went to the tack shop and tried on all the helmets. Many gave me severe mushroom head - haha!!

I really wanted a samshield, I love the way they look. Sadly they were either way to loose or too snug on the sides of my head. I tried on the Kask helmet and I don’t think I’ve ever worn a helmet that fit as well as it does!

So before I drop mega bucks on this helmet, is it suitable for the hunter ring? I by far prefer the ‘Dogma Chrome’ to the all black. For reference my goals are to eventually show trillium (Ontario silver level).

They are all over the hunter rings at WEF

FYI, you can get the liner system in the AYR8 Plus – all the current AYR8 inventory has been on closeout sales because apparently going forward all the AYR8’s will have the liner. So unless you just want a change, the AYR8 Plus would be an option.

If it fits, and is not bright pink with lime geeen polka dots it’s suitable for the hunter Ring! Seriously, any ASTM approved helmet is suitable as long as it fits… I show in an Antares, which is not a common helmet, heck I used to show in a cheap as dirt Ovation Schooled until I fell and had to replace it. Both fit, and neither affect how I place!

Buy what fits, not what’s in style!

This is interesting! And good to know.

And I promise I do understand the wear what fits, not what’s in style  However, both the Kask and CO fit me quite well and definitely better than the other brands I tried on. I was leaning more Kask than CO for the liner system, but wanted confirmation that it was going to be suitable for show season.

I love my Kask and wear it in the hunter ring with no issues.
