My husband and I are selling our farm in New York and will be relocating to the Spring Hill, Florida area which is just a bit north of Tampa. We are looking to downsize and simplify our lives while still staying involved in the horse world. We would like to keep two horses to ride and show. We are intrigued with the idea of equestrian communities where each person’s property is only a couple of acres but there are shared equestrian amenities like riding arenas, trails, and so on. Does anyone know of any communities like this in Spring Hill, Brooksville, San Antonio, Wesley Chapel or thereabouts?
A quick check brings up this property in Odessa in an equestrian community. Your best bet is to call a Realtor in the
area who would be familiar with all those type properties there. There are several closer to Ocala, if that area would work.

In case my post doesn’t re-appear ^^^^, there is one property in Odessa in horse community. The others I know of are closer to Ocala.
None really in Spring Hill proper. That is a very built up area. You might look out by Weeki Wachee, west of Hwy 19. I live in Citrus Co, and there aren’t any communities like you want around here.
Like Marla 100 suggested, nearer to Ocala might have what you are looking for.
Good Luck, and welcome to Fla.
Pine Ridge is 40 minutes north of Spring Hill. They have 3+/- acre lots and miles of trails.
Brooksville is pretty horsey and has plenty of equestrian properties but I am not sure about a community like this. I am not aware of many in west Florida. Your best bet would be a local realtor who specializes in rural properties.

(Had to look it up to make sure I had the name right, so went ahead and copied the info)
I know nothing about it except that the name came up a number of years ago when I was considering relocating to the Tampa area to be closer to my parents when my Dad’s health began to decline. It is way out of my price range so didn’t bother getting any details. It’s about an hour from Spring Hill with no traffic, not sure how that translates to commute time during peak hours.
I talked to a realtor about Pine Ridge, in Beverly Hills, FL, a couple of years ago before I decided to move to North Carolina rather than stay in Florida. It sounds nice, but was mostly more than I wanted to spend. Realtor didn’t seem too impressed by the horse community aspect, but I also got the impression that she didn’t actually know (or care) anything about horses, so I took that with a grain of salt. Beverly Hills is also about an hour from Spring Hill, but in the opposite direction (on the Ocala side, which I would count as a plus).
Here’s a link to Pine Ridge equestrian info.
Thank you everyone. This information is very helpful! We will definitely reach out to a realtor who understands rural properties and/or equestrian needs. Thanks again.
