I don’t show much, except with greenies at little schooling shows around the area. Finally some other NW people!
now living in Northern California. I showed hunters and eq, and occasionally junior jumpers in Oregon and Washington years ago! I lived in Portland, and first trained with Joan Kerron (now up in Washington), and then with Suzie Balenseifen
(now in Colorado). A friend of mine at that time now trains with Jim Dahlquist in the Portland area - Alexandra Zell, and her wonderful A/A and working hunter, Lucky You.
It appears that the Oregon show scene has diminished to a fair extent, compared to what is going on in Washington now. (I showed so long ago, that I remember Bobby Brawley riding ponies!!) LOL Back when I was showing, I would have to say the trainers, level of competition, riders and horses were pretty much on a par in the two states. JMHO
yeah i know jamie and clara. they’re nice kids, but they are kind of annoying, they think they’re really great riders and stuff. but yeah, cody is a great horse, and clara’s new horse olly is really special too. hopefully they can teach jamie and clara to really ride, not just sit there and pose.

Well I live on the Eastside of the Seattle area.
I have been here for almost 35 years and left a lot in my youth hoping to never return. But alas, I kept coming back, haha
We have two horses, Elliot a Westphalen hunter who is the pride and joy of my whole horse life because he is by Starman my horse hero, and Elliot takes very good care of his ancient rider.
Then there is dear Poncho my daughter’s Pinto Native American Warmblood.

Lisi: Lucky you, getting to ride with Bob Brawley. I’d ride with him in a minute if I could figure out how to make the 5 hour commute from Seattle each weekend! He’s fantastic!
