Are there horses at Saratoga right now?
Asking as I got a notice that one of the horses in my Virtual Stable had a work there.
Thanks.

Yep - it was on the local news a few weeks ago. They work at the Oklahoma track, across the street from the main track. When I looked a couple of weeks ago, there were not that many times posted yet, but looks like the numbers are climbing now.
However, the news also said you could just drive right up on the Nelson Ave side and go to the Whitney viewing stand to watch. I question that - lived in Saratoga off season last year, and the guards would not allow access to the grounds and viewing stand at the Oklahoma track until the meet opened.
You can see who has worked by going on NYRA.com. It will default to the main page for the current track - right now it’s Belmont. So you have to click where it says “Saratoga” at the top. Then click on “racing” from the menu, to the drop down “workouts”. That will give you a calendar of the works so far, maybe even what days look busy. Often it will be on Tuesdays which are the dark days for Belmont, when the Belmont based trainers come to watch.
Thank so much!
“when the Belmont based trainers come to watch.”
That is about a 4/5 hour drive from Belmont! Eeeek.
Private plane.
Some of the bigger outfits with multiple stings will send a string to the spa. And heck, who needs an excuse to go to Saratoga?
Many of the bigger trainers in NY have homes in Saratoga or nearby and they keep horses up here much of the year. Many of the 2 year olds who are sent from the training centers get sent up because they aren’t ready to race yet. Since Monday and Tuesday are dark, many trainers come up after training hours on Sunday and stay for a few days. From Saratoga to Belmont is about 4 hrs give or take some traffic etc.
