Are there still any direct Ramiro Sons active??

I was just wondering as Ramiro was such a great stallion. I know of one Son of him who is still an active breeding stallion with 26. Are there any other ones ??

Isn’t Ralando (in KY) by Ramiro?

Ralando II and Noteworthy are still breeding.

Rampal Frozen

Is Justice still around? Suddenly I’m thinking he passed away last year. Royal Z II is still available frozen.

You are correct, Justice passed away last summer. He was at Solomon Farm in SD.

I looked into Noteworthy myself last fall. He is linebred to Ramiro, so actually MORE than 50% his blood.

Unfortunately his shipped semen at that point is not recommended (by a Therio certified vet) unless you can ship counter to counter. They were going to try freezing him, because the vet said that often a stallion’s frozen will be better than his chilled (which I have never heard elsewhere, but this guy is a certified therio and I’m not).

But I never heard back from the SO. But contact her…she was lovely to speak to and very forthright. I hope his frozen DID work out…really treasured bloodlines.

Noteworthy does have some babies coming from fresh semen locally, and I am pretty certain they did freeze him this winter. Dr. Schmidt is an excellent vet, I have lots of faith in him and his knowledge.

Is Olympic Ramiro still alive?

If semen is dying fast than this does not mean the semen is bad. So if he is immidiately frozen and than directly after freezing in the mare, this may be even better than shipping fresh… or am I wrong ?

R. Johnson is available still, I think from SBS

Radjah Z would have been one, plus he had the awesome Ramiro/ Alme Z combo bloodlines…but he died now :frowning:
I believe they still have some frozen though.

Ralando’s semen quality was amazing. Came with nice semen report from Rood & Riddle where he’s collected. Got it same day through the airlines very inexpensively and no container to send back, and pregnancy first try. I believe his first foals are arriving this month or next. I have to wait until June for mine.

Ramirado…[/QUOTE]

I tried a few Ramirado babies out 2 years ago, they were lovely animals! So another vote for Ramirado.
