What arena drags do you all use and recommend?
I am building a 200x80 dressage arena. It has (or will have soon) a few inches of 2" rock base. Fabric. 4" of screenings. Then 1-2 inches of sand.
Very low traffic–just me and my two horses.
Also, budget options or ones that are popular enough that I could find them used would be best! Small JD tractor for pulling it.
What is a “small tractor”?
We use a TR3 and it does a great job.
Those types come for all sizes, from pulled by a gator or small tractor to bigger ones.
They are very pricey, but ours is several years old and still looks like new.
You may find now some used ones much cheaper.
I think that most any drag will work if you stay with it, don’t let the arena get too far out of shape.
I have a Mini DragNFly (https://carolinaarenaequipment.com/p…mini-dragnfly/) My arena is 100’ x 150’ - same type of use (just used for my personal horses.)
I sometimes pull it with our small JD but more often with one of the small garden tractor/lawn mowers.
I also have a drag n fly. I had trouble with it at first but with some adjustments by my footing contractor, it’s really great.
