Arena Measurements in Feet (Is there a convenient diagram?)

I am helping a friend set up a temporary backyard full court arena but the measuring wheel I use for landscaping only shows feet. Is there a website that shows a diagram for a large arena in feet? I can do the basic conversion for the border but I really need the distances for the quarter lines lines and between the letters.

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

Conversion calculators available, including: www.meters-to-feet.com

A wheel will get you started, but you really need a tape to get the corners square. Use 3-4-5 right triangle rule to make the corners square.

I’m sure there’s a diagram somewhere on USDF website.

basically a 20 x 60 meter ring is 66 x 196 feet.using a metric conversion table

Check your smart phone calculator for a converter. It’s a really handy thing!

In the mean time (or if your phone doesn’t have one):

20M = 65.62
10M = 32.81
30M = 98.43
6M = 19.69
12M = 39.37

I think that covers everything you need to set up corners, lengths, and all the other distances between letters.

Thank you sascha! I know I can get close on the 20x60 conversion but having the extra breakdown for the letter spacing will help.

Now good luck actually getting it set up! Thank goodness for my engineer father… :winkgrin:

Thanks LadyBug–high school geometry was not my best subject and I am really looking for a “for dummies” breakdown so that I can mark the first corner and then work from there. Anything with four corners and the letters in approximately the correct position will better than a big open field.

Get your big box setup correctly before worrying the placements of the letters. Make sure your two diagonal lines are the same length. If they are, you know you have a rectangular box. If they aren’t, you get a parallelogram.

Here’s a step-by-step description.
