I have these boots. They are extraordinarily warm and comfortable and do good things for my leg position.
However, they hiss and squeak incessantly while I am riding.
My barn mates think it is hilarious and I am, needless to say, the butt of a lot of lavatorial humor…
My horse thinks my boots are possessed, which as he’s 17.2 of fit warmblood, can be a bit disturbing.
I think it’s coming from inside rather than from the suede calf rubbing on my saddle. I wonder if it is the insulation, or the magical heat-generating footbed.
Today prior to my lesson I basically filled them with talcum powder, so instead of squeaking quite as much, we poofed. Which apparently was either wildly funny or terrifying, depending on whether you were a human or a horse.
Anyone else have this problem, and if so, did you cure it and how?
