Ariat dressage boot sizing

Generally would I get the same size that I have for a field boot? My field boots are 7.5 RS, and a touch big in the foot and calf but I think I would not want to size down for a dressage boot? I’m looking at the Ariat Cadence, which seems to he discontinued and my size is not available at the major retailers so I can’t really rely on an easy return/exchange!

I have the Ariat cadence in 7.5 and they seem to fit true to size. I don’t have ariat field boots, but I do have ariat paddock boots which are size 8. Both fit perfectly.

Thanks @Lennox217! Do you like the Cadence? Good for a first dressage-type boot?
The Heritage and Cadence boots use the same size chart, I just wasn’t sure how much stiffer they are, or if the lack of laces would make much difference.

I have Ariat dressage boots, field boots and have worn their paddock boots for everyday riding for about 20 years. I think they fit very well to size and I have no issues ordering them online because they always fit my size 9 feet.

For my ariat dress and field boots, and even their winter lace-up boots, I’m the same across the board. Like someone else said, I have no issue ordering online since I know what size is going to come in the mail and that they’ll fit! I had an older - so not totally sure about the newer ones - pair of cadence dress boots and I can tell you they’re stiff (like stiffer than my petries with the whalebone spine) and the ankle is wider than my heritage field boots, but not wildly.

They run true to size - the one thing to be aware of, they tend to have a narrow calf, so look at those measurements carefully. I have skinny calves, so it doesn’t really matter, but a regular calf fits me. Their calf and height measurements seem to be pretty accurate.

I would say generally yes, they are the same size across all boots. However, some boots (even across the dress boots) have zippers in different locations or larger (smaller) elastic gusset than others. Or they are simply built on a little different pattern. This can change the way they fit. If your calf height or width is right on the line between sizes it may be worth trying them on in the store.

For example, the VSport boots have a much larger elastic gusset than the Ariat Contour (field or dress). However, I did fit comfortably into both.

Thanks all! I decided to start with just regular dress boots from Dover

Always found ariat true to size. I am 8.5, and take anywhere from a 9 to 10 in shoes and boots, but with Ariat I am a 8.5 medium/regular in tall boots, and field boots, and any other shoe wear, and its really gratifying to know I can just order my correct size and get it with Ariat.
