I may have missed someone, but did Andre have no riders in the top 10?
John Brennan has too much crap in his pockets.
Yes, I agree there were some spots he wasnât perfect butâŠhe is an effective rider and I like Waldo.
Congratulations to the winner! Itâs quite an accomplishment to win the Maclay.
Iâm sorry I wasnât able to see the live stream.
Side note: It seems like North Run and Staciaâs barns have had a lot of students doing well this year in the BigEq finals.
Whatâs up with Dignelli these days?
He didnt! He seems to have a lot of younger up and coming riders right now.
Sam is a 15 (?) year old kid and a very nice one at that.
Iâm all for discussing todayâs rides, but can we do so politely and professionally please? Thereâs a lot of vitriol in this comment.
I agree that they shouldnât make a big deal about the male vs. female, but I donât understand what you are implying in the last part of your comment. Equestrian sports are one of the few (maybe only?) where men and women can and do compete equally.
It was sarcasm. I should have put the /s at the end for clarity.
I agree. Donât let internet strangers get you down Sam. You were the best on the day in the judges opinion and theirs are the opinions that matter. Congratulations!
Not at medal finals either.
GoshâŠgets to be a long day for the kids and horses!
Got it - now that you spelled it out for me I feel like an idiot for not getting it right away!
LOL! John is having a great time driving that Audi
 Itâs a long day for everyone! I edited it to add that.
Congrats to all of the top 10, and particularly to the Gochman sisters for moving up an impressive number of spots! I had it pinned the same way as the judges AFTER the test - my feelings about whether there should have been a test or not aside, I thought there was some very good riding today.
I thought that the second course was far better than the Medal course. It had more options and more tough tests and more places to really show off. Loved the counter canter test. It showed how well the rider could think on his/her, er, feet (as it were).
That second round was phenomenal. Jimmy and Susie said it wasnât overly difficult, but to me it really did great separating out the riders. Loved the design! What a great day and a lot of young talent, unbelievable horses, and exceptional trainers.
I was really impressed with Emma. She did a great job on a horse she had never ridden before. It was a nice horse, but they all have some quirk that you need time to figure out.
I know she has a lot of experience catch riding, but I just thought she rode it greatâmaybe her plan just wasnât so great for this horse.
Some time during her first round, the commentators said something about Emma not qualifying in the regionals, but by some âquirkâ got in. Does anyone know how that happens?
I think if you place at Medal finals or Washington, that can get you in for the Maclay, but I might be mistaken.
Wow. You realize you are trashing a child, right? A skilled, talented kid who probably rides way, way better than you, me, and 90% of the people on this thread. Fascinating that you pick on a tiny imperfection and ignore all the rest. I had to go back and watch the video just to see what you were talking about.
