Aspca

Everyone just assumes ASPCA is a “boots on the ground” organization trying to help homeless pets, animal shelters, and rescues. Their commercials may be to blame. But they are primarily a lobbying group. Their focus is policy, not rescue or sheltering. So it should be absolutely no surprise that the bulk of their budget doesn’t go to pet shelters.

It’d be great if the media could actually teach people these facts instead of just being sensationalist. Why the heck would we want people to get angry at the ASPCA? Policy change is how we’re going to make any long-lasting improvements in animal welfare.

I only posted it because so many people have no idea as to what they do with their money.

So far as the farm bill is concerned, I’d prefer to see horses whose owners are to cheap to euthanize them (bullets are cheap, and in knowledge hands , instantaneous), go to an inspected slaughter house under USDA auspices.

Then you could have posted a link to their annual report, which is publicly accessible, versus this slanted piece of media, which obviously has some kind of agenda.

Again, do you realize how many people have no idea how to access annual reports? They see the ads, and send money,

Wasn’t that the point of your original post? A link to help people understand where the money goes? You could’ve just as easily linked the annual report (which, btw, can be found by Googling “ASPCA annual report.” It’s the first result). People can draw their own conclusions from the numbers. The article you posted bashes the ASPCA, and it’s unclear why. They’re not inherently bad just because they don’t spend their money how people assume.
