Can anyone tell me what the h/j scene is like in the Athens area? Also, what is the general horsey scene like? What type of soil is there? Sandy, or clay? Thanks in advance.

Athens has a pretty strong local hunter organization. Athens area hunter jumper association. Was just at one of there shows Sat. You should be able to find some barns on there site. Mostly hard, red clay in Athens, I am lucky enough at my farm to have sandy loam soil, but one of the few. Some dressage and eventing around as well. Athens is a nice place to live. Convenient to a lot of surrounding show venues. Also, good restaurants, club scene etc.
