Attending my first hunter pace...

I had been invited by several different friends (different hunt clubs) to go hunt with them. I did make it to opening meet with the closest of the clubs. After that the weather here in Va was so crappy that many meets were canceled due to rain/mud and snow/ice. Work also interfered a couple of times. This coming weekend I am going with one of my friends to her club’s hunter pace. I am really looking forward to it. I hadn’t been out and about much with my horse this winter and at one point resorted to walking up and down the driveway as that was the only place that had halfway decent footing. I went with some friend’s today on a trail ride at a local state park, and my mare is ready to go…hehe. We did a good 6 miles 1/2 walking and 1/2 trotting and my mare felt great. Yay for spring!!!

It is so nice the weather is finally cooperating and we can ride! Enjoy your first hunter pace. I, too, am looking forward to getting out to some paces this spring. Have a great time!

Thanks SR I’m sure I will have a good time. I pulled my mare’s mane yesterday in preparation. They have prizes for best turnout and I plan to braid my horse. Today when I go to the barn will clip whiskers and bridle path. I need to clean my good bridle and then will be ready to go.
