Audio help for learning tests?

I know there are audio/podcast lessons that can talk you through a schooling ride. Is there anything similar to read a test to help learn it? Currently I have my test on my phone and have to stop and dig it out of my pocket every minute to check what’s next when I’m learning a new test. It’s rather tedious, but more often than not I’m riding alone so don’t have anyone to call it for me.

Try learning it off the horse, walking the pattern or read it on video (on phone) and listen to it when you ride.

Ride IQ has most of the test audible and ready to follow along.

Yes! RideIQ has an audible ride along for I think nearly every test.

You can also find ride thrus on YouTube. You can just let the video play in your pocket as your ride with the audio. And hope you don’t hit a poorly timed ad, lol.

Oh nice, it’s been a few years since I tried RideIQ so great to know they have all the tests.

Thanks also for the YouTube suggestion! I’m a visual learner so seeing someone else ride the test with commentary is actually so helpful.

You could always record reading it to yourself and then play it back.

Use earbuds.

Ok I tried listening to a YouTube recording while riding and it didn’t work because the timing didn’t line up. So I still had to keep stopping to pause and rewind. Not that much smoother than referencing the test.

Walking the test/pattern is what I do for dressage, showmanship, equitation, what have you. I’m a visual learner so this is what works really well for me.

Voice control.

I think it is subscription.

Ooooh thanks! This looks interesting, I’ll give it a try.

A former trainer had recordings she worked off of as she practiced for her rides. She recorded them as one of her students (not me!) rode the tests so it was timed to the actual movements. Pretty clever.
