Why is this site turning my imported JPEG sideways? Don’t want a sideways Cat Picture. No cat wants to be permanently sideways.

Could you duplicate the picture in your files and rotate it three times, then see if it comes up here straight?
Why three times, so it doesn’t then show up upside down.
Cats also don’t like to be permanently upside down.
That three times is assuming your picture shows in the avatar with only one rotation, as those glitches tend to do.
Hope that makes sense?
@ Bluey. I thought of that-- flipping the cat around (actually, the three Trust Fund Kittens…like the cruel juggling act Steve Martin used to do). But I couldn’t believe that kludgy solution would work. I mean, WTF does COTH choose to rotate a picture 90 degrees, just arbitrarily?
Also, I can’t believe that Kelso, the Konnektikat doesn’t spell it “Kello.”
I tried to rotate this picture 90 degrees and got the full 180. Wha…? How? The Trust Fund Kittens are Not Purring right now.

Since you can’t upload an avatar from a mobile device, I think it’s pretty clear that the answer is no.

@ Simkie and tazycat. I will say, however, that the original picture of the Trust Fund Kittens all lined up and polite was taken by a phone… prolly held sideways. So it could be that COTH is ignoring all rotations (except Simkie’s Mystery Fix) and keeping the original orientation of the phone.
Kludgy solutions is the best way to run on a PC, now out of practice since I have a Mac.
I kept an old cobbled together PC working for some years with that kind of mindset.
Our computer guru would scratch his head how it was still running.
He wanted me to get him one of those fairy wands I must be using on it.
I see that Simkie already solved your problem, finally cute kittens now right side up.
I’m guessing that your phone (and computer?) were both reading an orientation type file that goes with the pic…so you would see it right ways in both places, but either that orientation file got lost along the way or COTH can’t read it. So your little meows were sideways. When I downloaded it, I got what you see–no orientation included–so I was able to rotate and save and upload and TA-DA!
I doubt it’s a COTH thing You prolly could have sent it to a lot of places on the internets and had the same issues.
And Kelso Kat is a man of mystery. He doesn’t always use the full alphabet, but when he does, it’s because he’s trying to impress some cute kittens :lol:
Well, that fact-- that my computer can fix the orientation of the Kittens to my eyes… without following up and getting that done in the software— that’s just lame! But I am grateful for fix. I guess it takes a village and some importing/exporting to get this done.
You may remember this triplet of kittens— the Trust Fund Kittens-- from a series of thread about them. This was my first Home-Hatched batch of kittens, the first set never to have known homelessness at a young and tender age. Well, I’ll tell you what: The (good) experience seems to have deprived them of the level of gratitude required to produce a Purr for anything but momma’s boob.
This software thing has everything to do with CATS, it turns out, because COTH’s Catty Set has been bugging me for pictures. And now that we can all post 'em, there should be a Wall of Cats thread. But no cats there want to be hung up sideways (or worse)… so we have to work this out.
How does that go, “don’t look at a gift horse’s mouth?”

I’ve found the same thing re: gratitude vs catitude. One of my small cats is so stingy with her purring and sweetness. She IS getting better–we have early am snuggle time now–but she’s a year and a half old!!
Kelso Kat, on the other hand, is very free with his purring and hellos. He is just SO PLEASED to have people. And FOOD, hello, please feed the cat. Pls disregard that he was just fed. Mrow mrow mrow.
