I’m just glad I picked up on the tells before I ended up $8K deep. My instructor teaches in multiple states, and has seen that the Aviars can work out great, but it all really hinges on having a good rep. Sometimes the horses backs change really rapidly with them and require a significant re-do of the fit and panels. They are really close contact, and I think it would have been amazing under different conditions. The one I had on trial was a Rook 3.0.

It’s the most expensive saddle I’ve ever purchased, but still only 1/3 of what you were going to spend, so I completely understand backing off. I, too, have a 17h WB that seems to be a fairly easy fit and only required the standard flaps so hoping for the best.
