Awesome accents at the WEGs

Came for the horses stayed for the accents…

I met a lovely couple from Brazil, my cab driver was from the Netherlands (we talked about Dressage!), The people in front of me for show jumping were from England, the people to my left were Canadian. There was a rowdy cheering squad from Venezuela across from me. Oh, and there was this really hot guy talking on the phone in French in one of the stores (I creeped on his conversation a little). I also saw a lot of Germans walking around, and talked to a few. All in all though, my cabbie had the best accent.

I am thoroughly enjoying all the different nationalities here, and I figured I wasn’t the only one. So, who did you meet at the WEGs?

Mostly folks from Australia, who got miffed that the announcer said Austria (AUS vs. AUT). And, the Totilas folks in orange were a blast as were the Germans, who had the most flags waving. We had a great guy from NZ rooting for Mark Todd and the rest of the team - I loved his accent and his attitude. But, my favorite was a couple from Australia (mid 60s I’d guess), who had the greatest hats from the outback and seemed like the real thing. Their smiles were the best and they seemed to be having such a great time just watching all the wonderful horses and riders.

There is a whole globe of accents out there  You should go trot it.
