I am currently rehabbing my mare from a bowed tendon and have come across the opportunity to purchase some Back On Track exercise boots (fronts and hinds) for a bargain price. I’m wondering if anyone has positive experience with them, as I am seeing mixed reviews online.
Do they really fall apart? How much do they really help the soft tissue? Will they be suitable for jumping one she’s back to that (fingers crossed)?
Thanks!
I’ve had my front pair for 4 years and the back for 3 and love them. I personally haven’t had much wear an tear on them but my horse doesn’t tend to damage boots or polos like other horses I’ve know. I do jump in them and find she jumps better in them than other boots during the winter months, she gets very stiff in cold weather. I have been using the hind as we recovered from a hind suspensory injury. Honestly can’t say if they truly helped or not but she’s healed very well and is doing great.
I recently bought BOT Royal Work boots for Fergie, I like them, and they keep her legs tight…without them her windpuffs were getting soft. Can’t speak to durability yet, but like the look and feel of them.
I like them as well, but I have 2 pairs of the fetlock boots, and on both pairs the lining is falling apart around the edge of the boot. My horse doesn’t interfere in the back (I’m using them for the BOT properties) so it’s a material issue. The first pair I had started getting holes in the trim on the second ride. The second pair lasted a little bit longer but they too are starting to get holes in them. I don’t know if it’s the footing? I use them when working in the rings (sand) but not out on trails.
The front boots (Royal work boots) seem to be holding up better.
