Hi Guys!
im looking at either buying the fleece sheet or mesh sheet as a stable rug and sheet to go under my guys winter turnout. Any experience with which is better? Do they both fit the same? A 78 is a 78 in the other? Thanks so much!

I found that the fleece runs smaller. I’d go with the mesh for layering, less static and the option of opening up the shoulder gussets on the mesh is a good one.
I like the mesh because you can use it year round, and it doesnt hold hair underneath like the fleece!
Everything sticks to the fleece, shavings, hay etc… I prefer the sheet and it can be used almost yearround
Ditto!
The mesh runs a little larger overall, but seems a bit tighter in the neck opening, so would likely fit better under another blanket with less pulling back and pressing on the withers. You just will likely need a blanket with a bit more drop to cover it.
The fleece would be super static-y, and would likely have issues with being pulled back and pressing on the withers like a lot of coolers tend to do when layered. It’s pretty soft fleece, not like the super thick and slightly stiff fleece of, say, Rambo coolers.
the mesh sheet is also great for use year-round, unlike the fleece.
To give an idea of how generous the mesh sheet sizing is, we have a 78 in the tackroom that fits the 17hh draftXtb who usually wears an 82, but the snug neck hole makes it sit a bit higher on the fjords/haflinger/haflinger cross/gypsy cross necks, which actually makes the length from chest to tail work well on them even though they usually wear between a 72 and 75 depending on the horse. The drop is super generous though, and hangs to the fjords’/haflinger cross’ knees/hocks (they’re all between 13.3 and 14.2), but the gypsy cross and full haflinger are both over 15hh and the mesh sheet would be almost perfectly covered by their Amigo XL sheets. The neckline sits normally on the qh types with the thinner necks, so it is a bit long on most of them, even one who typically wears a 78 (he is particularly narrow so that may be part of the issue).
I tried one of the fleece sheets on my 14hh morgan/haflinger but the cut isn’t great for his super stocky build. It would be better suited to a tb type I think.
I have 78s in the mesh sheet, and I’ve used them on literally everyone. The length is generous; the fit is perfect on my 81 Rambo horses. The adjustability in front also lets my use it on my 75 PRE. I bought one horse the fleece cooler, and I went up to the 81. I don’t like fleece as a blanket liner - too much static and pulling.
That said, my most recent purchase - the Rambo Ionic sheet - is the best fitting of the group.
Thanks guys ended up ordering the mesh, fingers crossed it fits him as planned!
I found the mesh ran true to size and also my fleece ripped in multiple places. Never had that happen with the mesh or the turnout.
