Backpack sprayer?

Does anyone have a backpack sprayer that’s actually comfortable? I picked up an inexpensive one last year and it’s just outright PAINFUL to wear when full. Are any of them better?

You may also consider a sprayer on wheels, a pull along type sprayer, if you have not tried one of those before:

Those seem to work easier for us than the backpack kind.

Given the type of terrain, I really do need a backpack sprayer for this scenario

I just bought one of these last week. I’ve used it three times. It works very well and is comfortable for me to wear.

That is what ours is, a Chapin, 20V, Black and Decker one, model 63985.
Our local feed store was selling those last year.

We had a problem with a leak, no fun when it is on your back and it starts leaking.
We think we got that fixed, but mostly have been using our old pull type.

Good to know your similar one is working so well for you.

may it is designed for your husband to wear/use?

and second though is to add a drink holder to the unit that can hold your drink when you need to use both hands on something… sort of like those “soft drink” can holders on riding lawn mowers… sure, for soft drinks only

My brother in law would have added a mixed drink cocktail dispenser to the tank …there may not have been any room remaining for chemicals

A drink holder is an important piece of safety equipment. Dehydration while working outside in hot weather is a serious risk. You should use appropriate measures.

For routine work this would provide both head protection and a steady supply of liquid at a reasonable price.

In some places protection from the Sun is an important part of good work habits. The classic Western hat provides that. And can provide hydration, also:

Note the many colors available.

But sometimes you elegance and sophistication. And what could be more elegant and sophisticated than Mardi Gras?

Technology is once again our savior, protecting us from the twin curses of dehydration and sobriety.

   What a wonderfully sexist comment. No, if anything, it’s worse on him because he’s broader.

Thanks for the link, G. I don’t need a powered one, but I’ll see if I can find an analogous hand pump version of what you have there…

The company does make hand powered units and they got good reviews. But I’ll tell ya if you use the electric version ONE TIME you will be ruined for that hand pumping stuff!!!

I have a roundup brand one I got from lowes or someplace like that. It’s 3 gal. I find it quite comfortable. The hardest part is getting it on when it is full.

I find putting it on the freezer after it gets filled works well as it’s just right height for me to only have to make a small “bend” to get the straps on. It’s just about "counter height: so I guess anything of that size would work. I’ve to a B & D Workmate that is just a bit too low and my regular work bench is just a bit too high.

I can certainly see the attraction but we use this sort of thing so infrequently–seems like one more thing to break, lose the charger for or just have to maintain  We have a larger 3 point sprayer for the big jobs…

But I do also see that the delta in price is not a whole lot, soooooo…

I am so short, I can put sprayer on tailgate and it fits to put on my back from there, at least on my pickup.
When full it is so heavy is hard to get on your shoulders and back from the ground.

You could try that, but maybe add a box the right height to the tailgate to put it on?
