Well, maybe they took the view that she didn’t present at B. TV view definitely looked like a stop but good on her - she seems to have escaped two stops![/QUOTE]
LOL! It looked like they absolutely steamed past, very surprised they’ve got away with that.
One of the walls in the quarry was removed as well.

That was the fence 26 referenced earlier, iirc.
From EN regarding Tiana and Finn:
For those of you looking at the live scores and seeing Tiana and Finn marked as going clear, she is the only rider without a fence analysis recorded at this point, which probably means the ground jury is looking at whether she took the right way through the long route at Vicarage Vee after missing a flag there on the direct route. All I can tell you at this point is she definitely had a runout at Huntsmans Close.
‘she (Rebecca) really needs to settle down now’. Both Ian Stark and DOC think she’s set off too aggressive. Riddlemaster baffled by her riding. However, they’re now jumping OK.
DOC commentating and says a lot of the mistakes are rider mistakes.
And Rebecca has fallen in the water at end of Vicarage Vee. Elimination
I guess that course is whipping some tail. Toddy out, Lucinda out.
The lead after cross country I forget his name had a great ride I guess.
Laughlin Glen?
Clark and Loughan Glen go at 12:20 EST, but they’re running a tad behind due to multiple holds for fence repairs. He’s one of the last riders to go.
The leaderboard certainly does look like ‘carnage’ - EXCEPT that so many riders I guess I could call ‘middle-rank for Badminton’ are completing! It must really mess with BNR excuses I mean explanations when so many Suzie Q’s and Joey Whosit’s completed with no jumping faults. I always wondered about that … what does a BNR say to the owner when that happens?
My fingers are really crossed for Clark and LG. I wondered why he didn’t keep going with Universe just to give the horse and himself the experience, but maybe the horse felt nqr.
Still monkeying with the live feed - I had 15 glorious seconds of live streaming Badminton so far. Mostly it seems to have yielded a lot of pop-up spam I thought my internet was set to block.
DOC said Clark had said universe had run out of steam and it had never happened before plus I think he had a frangible.
Fingers crossed for Clark. I gather that he is going at 5:20 English time? So the 12:20 is east coast time?
Anyone know if Glen is stong at x/c?
Poor BBC. Their time schedule for showing SJ tomorrow will be all off with the retirements/withdrawals/elim today
I agree the leaderboard looks like carnage but - and not wanting to speak to soon - there have been no ambulances, no air ambulances, no horse ambulances - a few tumbles - but mostly it’s silly stops, glance offs etc.
Huntsmans close IS causing problems and now because everyone’s going the B route, it’s creating a different problem - you approach from the left and many horses are drifting right to the very wide part of the corner and banking it - once people figure that out, it’ll all be good.

And problems in Huntsman’s Close are certainly not new to the Badminton course. I’ve got dvd’s going back years showing riders tipping off and glancing off in Huntsman’s Close. Usually in fairly dramatic fashion, with outraged equine facial (and ear) expression. “You idiot, how did you think I could jump that when you ride this way?”
OK, I cursed that… one horrible horse fall (at 18) Same problem as described earlier, horse left leg. Horse up and looked amazingly OK but did full somersault.
Mark Todd sooo nearly fell in the lake. SO nearly.
EEEK! Did anyone else catch Sara/Valentino’s rotational fall?! My heart jumped up into my throat… so glad they both got up!
Pippa Funnell doing great until she aimed her horse at the largest part of a fence and tipped her off… Jeez
Toddy soaking wet and struggling a bit with his horse being ‘rude’ (Tina Cook)
Someone please update on Clark all the way around … [praying praying safe and double clear will do praying praying]
thanks so much !!!
He’s on course now. Just started.
WFP on course too so may not show that much of him
