Baker Plaid fabric

I thought I had commented on this thread, but I guess I didn’t.

The Baker sheets don’t really fit any of my horse’s shoulders (my mom is putting one on our mare anyway, but I digress). That said, I LOVE the pattern, it’s just so classic to me. When I was in my 20s, one of my trainers had the Baker seat covers in her truck. I loved it and decided I needed them as soon as I ever owned a truck. When I got my truck, part of the passenger seat had been damaged by the previous owners puppy. so it was like I HAD to get the seat covers. They are extremely durable, easy to wipe off, and I can take them off wash them pretty easily. My truck is 20 years old and pretty well kept, the seat covers definitely help with that.

My Baker loving mother wanted to get the seat covers for her truck, but then decided that it wouldn’t look good in her dark-interior truck .

If you’re ever near a new one, please read the label.

What does it say?

Does the new label say it’s made of puppies?

Even if it is made of nylon, my point is that the actual type of weave is likely what’s determining the grabby-ness of the fabric.

For those who are fans of the Gilmore Girls TV show, did you ever notice that there is a poster for Baker blankets hanging on the wall of the diner? That always seemed like a pretty random touch.

Not sure if it is related, but I am fairly certain that Lauren Graham is/was an equestrian. She might have had a hand in that.

I have several old baker blankets in great condition I have kept over the years. There is a lady on Etsy who makes purses, pillows etc out of old blankets. I think she may even do custom orders if you supply the blankets.

This is her Etsy page

Check with Jacks. They bought out Curvon a few years ago who owned Baker. They used to be manufactured around the corner from me and I could go there and purchase fabric for personal use for items that they didn’t make. now Jacks has an entire custom line with the Baker plaid.
