Are those still a thing?
I remember them in catalogs many years ago, as the next best thing for small lots.
Are you referring to columnar apple trees? If so, there are some grown under the name urban apple trees. You could google them and see if they are the same.
I suppose those are it, Ballerina being the trade name.
There is a serviceberry tree with that name too.
Are these what you were looking for?
(Now you have me wanting some of these too! )
yep. I just wonder if the apples are any good.
I’d like to be able to tell you if the apples are any good but it’s going on 5 years with my two and I still HAVEN’T HAD A SINGLE APPLE
My little Montmorency cherry trees are doing okay though.
So you planted apple trees at world’s end 5 years ago! I wish I have had the foresight.
It is disappointing though that 5 years in they have not set fruit! I have a peach tree still in its nursery container (I know) which set fruit every year since I bought it.
Okay I actually just looked it up, it was May of 2018 that we planted them, so 3 full years. They had little apples on them when we bought them but so far, they do not want to make any of their own. Maybe next year. sigh
Do you have cross-pollination? a good phosphor balance in the fertilizer?
Well I got two of em. Suppose I need to fertilize more.
for flowering and fruiting plants the 2nd and 3rd number on the fertilizer bag need to be higher than the first.
