Are these as silly as they seem? Appears to be a strap of Velcro to go over the Velcro on your polos? But with added risk of a bandage bow? What am I missing?
I wouldn’t use them over polos alone. But I used to use my old polos over standing wraps. Over time, the velcro on the polos deteriorated and I had to put duct tape over the velcro to ensure no problem over-night. I would find these handy in that situation.
Although I guess I could have bought new polos. 
But I had them for, literally, decades and loved the old fashioned cotton polos.

I was always taught when putting tape over wraps to spiral it, not make a continuous loop like that-- to avoid causing bandage bows.

When I used duct tape to reinforce my old velcro, it was over puffy standing wraps. I didn’t even go all the way around once, just over where the velcro fastened to keep it in place.
