Enjoy the green pastures of Rainbow Bridge brave boy - and say hello to all of our faithful friends who are waiting to welcome you - RIP
My heart goes out to Barbaro’s immediate family, the Jacksons, the Matz family, Edgar Prado, and everyone at NBC - they all tried thier best and they all must be heart broken today; my deapest condolences
Thanks for this post.
For those who keep insisting on using this such a sad day to project your on going opnions. Remember wether right or wrong those that knew and loved him did what they felt best. They saw him everyday and they alone had the right to make those decsions.
Love has no fine line between to little and to much. Love for someone is just that.
RIP and prayers and comfort to those who are hurting.
Have fun on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge Barbaro…
It would be nice if they buried him a place where the public can come and pay their respects… Private farms can be complicated.
I am sure they will keep that in mind…
Right, TS. And when he had pain, guess what? When that happened, as they promised all along, they made the right decision.
Really sticks in your craw that they were true to their statements, doesn’t it?
I just started my laptop up and saw the teaser on MSN. Immediately started crying (now my 7 mo old son is looking at me like I’m nuts). I’m so very sad, but I can’t even imagine what the Jackson’s feel like. My heart and prayers go out to them at this time.
RIP and Godspeed, Barbaro. You will truly be missed, Big Guy. We love you.

I lost my precious OTTB last night as well and I just gave my “Believe in Barbaro” bracelet to the guys to bury with Blitzen today.
Maybe Blitz waited for Barbaro at the gates and they now run together in big green fields, free from pain and suffering.[/QUOTE]
I am so sorry for your loss.
May Blitzen and Barbaro both enjoy endless green pastures.

Actually, I hope that they don’t. I like the thought of a private place where they can go. After all, he was THEIR horse. They don’t need a place they’re going to constantly have to maintain and clean from countless bouquets and tchotkes and cards and notes people will leave. There’s dignity in privacy. These poor people have had the spotlight glaring on them for months (just look at some of the comments and articles and diagnoses by wannabe know-it-alls). They deserve their peace and privacy.

TOTALLY agree, Anne.
I am so lost for words as tears fill my eyes. My heart shares the pain with all those who were a part of this grand horses’ life.
Barbaro, you were beautiful!
R.I.P.
RIP Bobby
May your big heart run you over the Rainbow Bridge to play with Ruffian!
You’ve been an inspiration, God Speed Bobby~
Godspeed, Barbaro. You have many friends waiting to greet you over the bridge.
Jingles and prayers to all those at the heart of his fight. Barbaro tried so hard to win his fight for life, and he had the best team possible.
God Bless Barbaro and all his attendants and friends.
Donna
Godspeed Barbaro

RIP Barbaro
Thank you to Barbaro - for being - brilliant, tough, smart. I have your Derby win on home video as I was at Churchill Downs and had money on you. Nothing sticks in my mind like when you finally decided it was time to go and swept to the front. “He took the lead, he took the lead!” I screamed. Then, down the stretch, “He’s gonna win, he’s gonna win!”
I’m in tears right now and I’ve never been that way for an animal I didn’t know.
We had a baby this morning, a filly. As her spirit arrived and yours left, hope you gave her some pointers.
Thank you, Barbaro.
Condolences to all who loved him.
Damn, I really thought he was going to make it :(.
My heart is heavy
I hoped this day would never come. I don’t want to add too many words but just a thank you to Alex, Virginiabred for keeping us informed.
I wish it was a better outcome.
