Barisone- New Thread

That’s not Lauren. The woman in the video has a good 50 pounds on Lauren and actually speaks knowledgeable. To my knowledge, Leif doesn’t instruct her at all.

Edit! My apologies…I just noticed you said “in the background”. Sorry, I was focused on the mare and her rider.

Jury went home. Stream is off.

Jury had a question re: weee they being recorded?
Asked if they could go home
Asked how late they had to stay tomorrow - Judge said it’s up to them.

Side note, Judge addressed who the foreman is and commented that he has been advised they were having issues accessing evidence on the laptop. Foreman advised that’s been resolved.

(I’m super curious what evidence they were looking at.)

I am still just amazed at that chain of events. Even if that first cop on the scene was a little overwhelmed by the circumstances or whatever, what about the other 49 law-enforcement types who showed up throughout the day?

Not one of them thought, Gee, maybe we should check everybody who was involved in the altercation?

Oh, that would be great if you could repost. I think I missed that. Thanks!

Yes!
Clearly there is a huge hole in the training this department gets.

I think she means Lauren is in the background.

I’m pretty sure this is why Bilinkas kept asking how many people were there in his estimation. In other words, the chaos at the scene was of their own creation, and yet somehow not a single one besides maybe the detective thought about documenting anything or even making any notes for future reference, never mind collecting anything.

Jinx!

Another state with pretty strong gun laws: Massachusetts. If you are driving through Massachusetts with a gun in your vehicle you’re supposed to stop at the State Police barracks to have your paperwork checked. If you live in MA and want a gun, your local Police Chief has to OK it.

They apparently took a lot of pictures, though. Most of them were not introduced into evidence.

makes sense unless they clearly depict something relevant. That being said, you’d think they would review those photos and be clear about where people/items/things were since there were things documented on the crime scene diagram that the individual couldn’t attest to. Similarly, doing something like moving a phone, most people familiar with responding to a scene, even for medical treatment, are very specific with attending officers about items they moved/touched/observed if they at all have time to do so.

When I was an EMT, I had to provide my fingerprints and shoe prints more than once to be eliminated from those present at the scene of a crime.

I feel like one thing I’ve learned from watching this trial is that there could be circumstances where you would insist that the police take your fingerprints in order to rule you out of the events of the day. Just so there are no loopholes down the road.

Because these seem like whopping big loopholes at this point.

Lauren enters the picture at 13:12. Sounds like the instructor has a German accent (Ulf Moller?). Later you can hear him yell “Laurrrren” at 26:09.

Lauren is the skinny one in the background with the arm and torso bands

OK, what was the thumping noise in that video? It kind of seemed like it was coming from the horse in the foreground, but it did not really seem like it was in a rhythm with his/her feet hitting the ground.

Yes! Thank you! I had to look hard to actually see her. Good eye!

I think that was Leif sort of clapping * keeping time so the rider could hear it.

Ah, thanks.

Sort of like a metronome.

I enjoy popping in to read some of these comments. So, so out of touch with reality. You all watch too many legal and cop shows!
And all the conspiracy theories! What imaginations! You should work for QAnon.
What is disturbing is the amount of hatred towards the victim. It doesn’t matter if she is toxic, or disturbed, or just a difficult person. She was shot- a fact Barisone or his attorney have never denied.
And the belittling of the prosecutors and witnesses appearances! Just like the mean girls clique in high school.
But carry on! Will pop back in when I need a laugh.
All people involved in this deserve compassion. The victims, and Barisone- who let anger, arrogance, and entitlement take over, and ruined his own life.
