Ironically, I’m pretty sure the original Vertetis trial, for which Taylor was the judge and Bilinkas was the primary defense attorney? Well, the appeal was successful because Taylor improperly instructed the jury on the relevant defense laws.

Vertetis took a plea deal rather than going all the way through a second trial.

I do too. I’ve read all of their books, Dick’s multiple times throughout the years.

And agree about Felix though I always buy the new book when it comes out.

Ouch (for the judge). May be part of why they’re arguing over deviating from a standard charge (pre-written instruction) right now.

It’s usually very simple to reduce a dislocated joint, the problem is that it hurts like hell so people get very scared to do it, even though the pain will almost immediately decrease substantially once you do it. Shoulders can often be reduced just by having the person lay face down on an elevated surface (table), letting the affected arm hang limply straight down, and adding a little weight (have the person hold a weighted bag or purse or anything else you can think of). I’ve reduced them in the wilderness using a fallen tree and a backpack.

The issue I would have as a juror as to the defendants use or actual shooting of the gun was that there was no evidence shown that proved he did shoot the gun. Yes, a person was shot twice with life threatening injuries but what was the circumstances of the shooting.

If you are to believe the two witnesses, I would need more supporting evidence to back up the claims before I could come back with a guilty verdict.

Thus explaining your need for Advil

No, the cop did not testify to the opposite.

You can’t be too careful when you’re a dog.

Imagine having to explain it to the other dogs at the dog park as they circle around you and bark in your face, “You had one job!” Lol.

thankfully, it’s never been MY shoulder! I find all kinds of other ways to injure myself. LOL

It’s amazing how long it takes to catch up when you’re 200 posts behind, because people keep posting left and right! Lol.

And how do you know that RG did not convince MB that he (RG) would act as MB’s agent and get permits? It’s not as though RG has never been known to lie, right?

And wasn’t it MBs elbow that was out?

It wasn’t easy.
So you can imagine my annoyance when, after taking a good deal of time to do it, people repeatedly don’t refer to it while telling me I’ve got the details in it wrong.

@Angela_Freda, do you have the PDF of the document still? Maybe attach again so @Jealoushe could look at this time.

It blows my mind that some posters can’t understand why MB didn’t act in a sane and rational way prior to the shooting (IE. how to evict and bringing a gun to LK/RG’s location) when he has been diagnosed with a delusional disorder, has been proven to have been fearful for his life and is being considered temporarily insane.

People expect him to behave in a sane way but disbelieve his insanity when acting insane.

I do, on my laptop, so it will have to be later.

There has been evidence that he did shoot the gun. Two witnesses testified that he did shoot the gun - and that is uncontradicted. Even by the defendant’s own attorney and trial strategy. The jury will be instructed that testimony is evidence - the jury can give it more or less weight than physical evidence as they see fit.

But the standard is reasonable doubt. So when you have 3 people there, 2 say X happened, and the third doesn’t contradict that - I think its going to be hard for a jury to find reasonable doubt. (Not factoring in the insanity issue, or the intent issue which is being discussed now).

Yes, I just mentioned the shoulder joint because that was the specific injury in the Dick Francis book that I remembered.
