Barisone Trial Starting Monday, 3/28

Let’s think for a minute about who has actually stated under oath in a court of law recently that they had tried to ruin someone’s life.

I don’t know why, but I find this trial to be incredibly frustrating to watch. I think that’s for a variety of reasons, and partially due to all of the backstory/random details I know from CoTH.

Nipping.
She’s leaving out a major party to this incident, who caused injuries to the parties involved.
She’s trying to make them less significant.
That dog has a history.

One of the commentators from yesterday said that MB holding his head down, crying and expressions were showing that he was guilty and remorseful. How are others interpreting his behaviour?

Bilinkas asks if the dog attacked RC.

Judge says he cant ask that, he already ruled on that.

Side bar

Perhaps. That didn’t immediately come to my mind since I’ve never owned a dog that bites, repeatedly. Nor should anyone else. Except in very, very, special and rare circumstances.

That’s my point. Why be like that when everyone here is so against that exact thing lol

Her facial expressions, small body gestures, etc during the sidebars are also very telling at times. I wonder if subconsciously she feels like she’s not on display since she’s not being directly questioned?

DH knows very little about the case.
Says he looks broken.
DH is in the field of SW/mental health.

Bilinkas is told to move on.

I agree

I’m definitely frustrated by all the interruptions. If I were MB I’d be concerned. Bilinkas seems to make the same errors over and over. Is that a ploy to get the jury to hear things they “can’t consider,” knowing that they will still hear them and be aware?

Is it normal for the witness to hear the sidebars?

Bilinkas asks if she contacted DCCP.

She says no.

Bilinkas has no response.

He asked her if she searched on her phone for the DCCP phone number

LK doesn’t recall

**** Unsure if those are correct acronyms

I think so.
Jury heard dog attacked Dr Cox.
Probably enough to plant a seed about Rosie.

Highlights of continued cross of LK ctd on Day 4, 9:05 - ~9:30 am:

LK acknowledges her SM posts could be perceived as threatening MB. When asked if it was her intention to scare MB she says “Maybe, at a point…after being bullied and tortured.”

Discussion of 8/5/19 text saying something to the effect of “Michael is scared,” establishing LK’s perception of MB’s fear. Discussion of text describing MB as “deathly afraid” of father JK.

Discussion of dog. (Photos shown to LK but not published to jury I think? I’m mostly listening but not watching.) LK says dog is a dachshund/mini-Rott mix; acknowledges describing her on SM as a Doberman and a guard dog. LK says dog nipped and bit at MB. This line of questioning continues for a while. Bilinkas asks if dog also attacked RC but objection is sustained after sidebar.

He probably remembers having a decent life before it all went to sh*t. It’s possible that he is well aware that he did something wrong/something he shouldn’t have, and feels remorse, but does believe it was out of his control (like a psychotic break), and is ashamed of that.

I think his expressions could mean a variety of things that some of us can’t even imagine, and this trial is like an emotional Rollercoaster for him (and others, I’m sure).

I have to say this whole line of questioning shows the value of using a burner phone if you’re ever plotting to cause trouble. Yikes.

Why is this allowed (about JH)

LK says JH stole her phone, and broke into it a few months before the incident.

JH stole her phone?!
Is this a court version of houseguests?!
