We know LK is. No need to state it.

IF there was a 9-1-1 operator on the call, that still wouldn’t impact what happens when the officer gets to the scene. I can’t tell you how many times people scream a bunch of crap into the phone that isn’t really the situation at the scene. A dispatcher is not your psychic friend. They might have been able to confirm a female voice, at least 2 male voices, at least 1 dog, and 3 gunshots… that’s all.

They would have no idea who fired the shots, how many weapons were on scene, and who the aggressor was. It would be up to the officer on scene to secure the scene and maintain officer safety. IF RG was let out of the officer’s line of sight, then that officer messed up.

I’d be very interested to hear the call if there was one, but I thought it was stated that LK couldn’t manage calling 9-1-1 herself. (Although most phones will if you hit a bunch of random numbers)

I would caution anyone from saying families “enable”. I certainly didn’t enable my sister. Her mother and father didn’t enable her. That didn’t stop her involvement with law enforcement (including INTERPOL), or her demise. J in would dare anyone here to show proof that I or any of my family members enabled my very clearly teoubled sibling.

Not my screen. Not my phone. Next?

I do not think this comment was in reference to either you or your family as this thread is not about them.

While you and your family did not enable your sister, many families are quite the enablers. I speak from personal experience.

I am very sorry for your loss.

QFP.

And the same would go for the other earwitness. They’d only be able to confirm what was said to them and other evidence and statements could dispute what was said to 911.

I hear you, but there has been a jump to assumption on these threads that her family was enabling and culpable. I find that assumption abhorrent, absent proof.

Maybe it didn’t work because the screen was cracked.

I’m very sorry for your loss and for the heartache for your family.

Consider that there are people here who know much more than what is said on a thread. People who have had experiences with this individual in real life.

Try not to take things like this personally, although it is hard. Addiction is a tough row to hoe, and it affects entire families, so that not only is the addict the victim, but so is the entire family.

Again, I am sorry for your loss and the pain you are experiencing.

There is a 911 call from LK. It was acknowledged but never released. But it was supposedly after the shots were fired. She had ‘difficulty’ getting it to dial and didn’t remember talking to 911 and then supposedly shortly after broke the phone when using it to beat MB about the head repeatedly with the phone.

But now she says 911 can corroborate the ear witness testimony….which could only happen if they were on the phone at the same time……from when the altercation started and she should remember talking to them then….

Re-read my post re the exact events of THAT DAY. It’s on “That’s a Twist.” Screw it. I’ll help you out. I very specifically stated MY phone would not dial 911 bc my arms and hands were too bloody to open my phone. I said I didn’t remember calling 911…… but 911 did called. Also got called by me. Hey @Sdel…… why don’t you produce THAT post? It’s still there.

Thanks for understanding how some of these comments are unfair. And I hear you. But, Isn’t that the rub? People can claim “closeness” to the situation but maintain confidentiality. That allows a lot of people to lob lot of accusations without consequences. I’m sorry, but I still think LK is nuts, but I also still think these threads are beyond.

Regarding what the first police responder allowed…

Under the supposed premise that the boyfriend took the dog into the house to secure him, that same boyfriend COULD HAVE come out WITH a gun and started shooting himself, in response to the events and the heat of the moment. The police officer could not know whether or not that there was another weapon in the house. Or, possibly, IF the event preceding actually had been a self-defense situation, going into the house might give a party time to “stash” a weapon of his own.

I’m not saying that any of this did or would have happened. However, like others have said, I believe the police officer made a grievous error in allowing anyone out of his sight and out of his control. It definitely seems to me that under other similar circumstances, the police officer might not be so lucky in the outcome.

JMHO.

Keep in mind there is a lot of history here, some that you might not understand unless you go back and read thousands of posts.

LK was not required to identify herself on this forum. That was her decision and her choice.

Ugly behavior has come out from both sides, but threats have only been made by one person.

Personally, I do not appreciate being threatened, when I never did anything to justify it. But it was done more than once.

I abhor a bully. I abhor a bully, who expects to get their way by making threats. That behavior is a learned behavior.

I understand your feelings are raw. Another side effect from loving someone with an addiction issue, especially with what you have experienced.

But I would ask you to do this. Take a step back and view things here in the greater context, rather than an up close view. It will help you gain perspective.

Hang in there. It sounds like you did the best you could to help your sister.
