Barn/Boarding suggestions in Carlisle, Chelmsford etc Area

I have posted on Equinesite.com but haven’t gotten much in the ways of responses.

Searching for 1 spot for a quiet, well mannered gelding. My horse and I enjoy ring work, trail riding, hunter pacing, and taking jumping lessons at a local indoor. We are currently boarding in Carlisle where I work several shifts a week at the farm in addition to my full time job. I am open to additional working opportunities at a new location, but not mandatory for the right situation. We would like to stay as close to Carlisle as possible so we can continue to travel to our lessons, but again, this is flexible for the right situation.

Any leads or ideas would be so appreciated!

Sometimes equinesite.com doesn’t get a ton of traffic and can be hard to get responses from, however, I found an awesome boarding situation through equinesite BB so don’t lose hope yet! You could also check the equinesite classifieds if you haven’t already!

Unfortunately I am in Western Mass now and grew up in Eastern Mass so don’t have any info for barns in the central(ish) area but I have a friend who is an equine vet tech on the east coast, I will ask her if she can recommend any places! Also, if you haven’t already I would ask your vet/farrier and check local feed/ag/hardware stores for any ads that may be up. Also, perhaps you could give us more info about your requirements (trails access, indoor, individual turnout, grass turnout, etc.) and budget.

I recently went through moving my horse from a place we loved to a new barn (which we also love so far!) for logistical reasons and I know it can be a pain! Goodluck!

Who is your vet? I would ask them for recommendations.
Essex and Nashoba probably can give you names to call.

thanks for the response! Yes, I have replied to feasible options through the classifieds already. Just trying to put out feelers to see if there are back yard barns around that may have a stall and are not advertised.

As for preferences, I’m really not picky. I’d like to have a ring, but not a requirement if there is trail access and vice versa. My horse is really low maintenance and is fine in group turnout on dirt or grass (obviously grass is a plus, but again, not a requirement). Indoor definitely not required. I will be sure to follow up at local shops to check out their bulletin boards. Thanks again!

I use Essex so I will get in touch with them to see if they can recommend anywhere that may not be advertised. Thanks!

Have you found something yet? I live in Lexington but board in Tyngsboro-- it’s a 25 minute commute right up route 3 and pretty much right off the exit. My barn has an indoor, outdoor, and amazing care. There are no trails, but boarders frequently trailer out. I think there is currently an opening. If this sounds like a good fit please PM me.

Sent you a PM for another local option
