Were looking for quotes for building a barn here in lexington. Probably 3 or 4 stalls with a tack room and feed room. Not sure about a loft yet. I’ve found some suppliers for prefab and pole barns but i was wondering if anyone had experience with these? Rough cost for a 4 stall?
We dont need anything fancy. Were looking at having 3 horses max-my current eventer, a baby and possibly a friends. We called one contractor here and he quoted us $150k for the barn (wood barn, 4 stalls, tack room, feed room, bathroom, etc. WAY more than we need) and $25k for the ring, which is way more than we want to spend. The prefab and pole barn options look more like what we want.
We are trying to determine our house budget based on what we need in cash for a barn, and if we find its more than we want to spend, well focus our house search to those properties with a barn already. The house we love has the land and fencing but no barn.
