Barn builders - North Carolina

Looking to start my research on barn building and looking for recommendations on barn builders who will service Moore County, NC. Anyone have any builders to look into?

Joree Sykes of Sykes Construction built a huntbox for me about 13 years ago (in Vass). He was on schedule and did a nice job. He built my neighbor’s house and barn as well as two other homes and barns that I looked at prior to starting construction. I got three bids and his was the most competitive.

Jay-Kar Construction is used for a lot of home/barn construction in Moore, especially among horse people. They are top notch.

Pineland Homes has been promoting themselves a lot in the area, but I’ve never been in one of their builds. The owner’s wife rides so she is usually on the area FB pages promoting them.

Just be aware that we have a lot of “new” construction companies in the area as a result of our building boom. I would highly recommend a builder that has built horse structures before. Yes, anyone can build you a barn, but not everyone is going to know not to put the light switch right outside a horse’s stall door.

I’ve seen a lot of recommendations for Jay-Kar on the local facebook pages. A friend (and fellow COTHer) built a Barnmaster barn up in the Triangle and had a horrific experience from start to finish. I’m not sure who the local rep for them is, but you couldn’t pay me to work with them after what she went through.

Any other insights for barn builders in NC. Pricing. Experiences?

Jay karr is great but not interested in smaller projects. If you’re looking for a small center aisle or shed row, greg Beale does good work.
