Barn kittens

I know pictures are mandatory but we are not allowed in the nursery. Barn cat Cheeto (marmalade) arrived at our barn a few months ago as an unspayed stray. Before she could be spayed she got herself in the family way. She is the cutest, friendliest kitty. A boarder took her home but she made it clear she wanted nothing to do with living inside. She is happy in the barn.

Sunday night she had 5 bubs. Four are assorted shades of ginger and one is tortie. Mom and kids are in the warming room with beds, litter boxes, food, and water. Nobody can go in the room except 2 staff, but we can look through the window. I will get pictures when they are older.

Mama will be spayed when bubs are weaned. At least 3 have been spoken for.

SQUEE! Kittehs!

My Cheeto says (to paraphrase Michael Jackson)
“The child(s) are not my son(s)”

Kittens! :heart::heart::heart:

Do note that momma can get pregnant again before those babies are weaned–so either make SURE she’s kept inside, or get her in sooner. It’s not a problem to spay her in a couple weeks.

Thanks for the timing info. The barn manager takes good care of the critters and he knows more about this stuff than I do. I just guessed it would have to take place after weaning.

It’s kitten season! We went without a kitten fix for a while and now there are 3 batches on this forum! :smiley:
