Barn shoes

What kind of barn shoe do you recommend that slips on easy and is protective under hooves? Preferably slip on. Dansko?

Merrell mocs. They’ve done great for me–even when Dove ran me over and stepped solidly on my foot and pushed off. Urgent Care guys were shocked it wasn’t broken based on the bruising. It really could have been bad in less appropriate footwear.

You can get them waterproof and in summer and winter weights. I wear the mens–I think they’re a bit sturdier–but do have a pair of the womens as “going out” shoes.

I wore my Topsiders

I wear the bean boot mocs.

i also need something that I can slip on and off very easily many times a day. I ordered some crocs without the holes in the sides. However, they are kind of hard and have given me blisters on my ankle and one of my toes. I really don’t want to wear them with socks either. I am watching this post for suggestions.

Look at Sloggers. Nothing you can slip on is going to protect you from 1200 pounds of horse landing on it. But the Sloggers have a slip-on moc and they come in cute colors. Cheap, too. Have been wearing mine for 3-4 months now and they are my new fave.

Redback Boots.

Second for Merrell Jungle Mocs (the waterproof version).

My Merrell mocs really did do just that about ten days ago. Dove spooked in the crossties, planted very solidly on my foot with her hind and pushed off. I was bruised black and blue from toes to ankle, but no fractures, which rather shocked the urgent care guys.

I was wearing these. (Although I didn’t realize they weren’t waterproof when I bought them–would really recommend one of Merrell’s waterproof options for work around the barn!)

I will 4th? Merrell Mocs Love mine! I also wear mens - a bit wider, and more room for someone on their feet all day.

I find great barely used ones on ebay for about 1/4 the price of new

I wear Dansko clogs around the barn.

yeppers. Redback easy outs for the win. I ride, do barn chores, use mine as my daily footwear. I get about 2 years out of a pair before the waterproofing goes out.

another vote for the Merrill mocs.

I use LL Bean mocs, too. They wear like iron.

Danskos here too love them!
