Hi all!
Moving to Colorado Springs region in June and looking for a good, safe boarding barn. I ride H/J but my horse and I are not showing and we do not require a show/ training barn. I would be boarding there a minimum of a year.
Looking for safe!, adequate turnout, indoor arena, and not skimpy on feed.
Extras such as lessons, wash stall, trails, etc are cool but not essential. First priority is a safe environment for my horse and I and somewhere that will notice if something is off with my horse. I’m an equine veterinarian and cannot guarantee to get out to the barn every day though I aim for that. My horse has had some health issues lately as well so he cannot be somewhere that doesn’t keep a close eye on boarders.
Please give me some barn names that you like and also ones to avoid! Appreciate the help.
You say Colorado Springs “region”, are you going to be actually in Colorado Sorings? It’s a large city geographically speaking, how far are you willing to travel? If you’re going to be in the Black Forest area or even more north and are willing to travel, you might look at facilities in Parker (southeast edge of Denver). It’s been several years since I’ve lived there and my old barn wouldn’t work for you so I have no specific barns to suggest.
Thank you for your suggestion! I’ll be working and living north of CO Springs ( near Monument) so mainly looking for something that area, or about 15 miles away ( any direction)
I just bought a horse from this place. It seemed nice and all the horses appeared happy and healthy

I am actually moving out to Colorado Springs next week! I will be keeping my horse at Nicole Ackerman’s place (Inside Track Training, LLC) It seems like a great place to board and am excited to join the barn “family.”
Let me know how you like it!
