Barns within reasonable distance of Greenwich, CT?

Hi everyone!

I moved to Greenwich, CT about 6 months ago, and would really like to get back into consistent riding. My junior/ao jumper is across the country teaching my mother to ride, so I ride when I’m home, but miss riding consistently.

I’m looking for a barn that’s ideally no more than an hour away from Greenwich, and has a decent lesson program. I honestly don’t need anything fancy… I just really want to ride. I miss my horse, and I miss just being at the barn!

Thanks in advance!

Which part of Greenwich? It makes a difference which direction to go. any one within greenwich is pretty good. North Salem is also pretty easy for you to get up to.

I ride at a lovely private facility in Mahopac off the Taconic. It’s on the farther side, but we have a great indoor, nice horses, and lessons run about $75 for 45 minutes. We are able to use privately owned horses too, so much nicer than your run of the mill schoolie.

I live right next to Stamford. I would be willing to drive at max 45 minutes though!! I don’t work until 12pm, so I have all morning to get to the barn and back

PM sent!

I have lived in your area since I was born and have been riding in the area for about 30 years! Any questions please PM me…or ask on the board…I can offer some very candid information (based on my own experiences and those I am close to).
It’s a good area to be in!!!
