Bartville tack buy-back?

Posting for a friend. She had heard that Bartville will buy back their own used tack, ostensibly for a used tack section. I haven’t been to Bartville in years … does anyone know about this?

Alternatively, do they do tack consignment of their own (or any) used tack?

TIA!

Bartville does have a small section with used items. I have only bought some things from there, i have never taken any to be consigned so im not sure how the deal works if they buy from you or if the money exchange will depend on if/when the item is sold.

They do also have a section of a few used saddles there as well, but again not sure about the policies.

I got to Barville a fair amount, not far from us. Haven’t been recently so can’t comment on the “buy-pack”. Not even sure what is meant by “their own tack”.

The majority of the English tack they offer is not made by them. They cater to the harness needs of the Amish.

I’ve never seen much in the way of used bridles, halters etc they have on offer and worth the money. It looks like a lot of the stuff was brought in for repair and never picked up.

They usually have a lot of used saddles for sale. Most are on consignment. Most IMO are overpriced. I have made some offers on a few. They call the owner and get a yes or no. Generally I get no. A few months later the saddles are still there price reduced to less than what I offered.

Gumtree, what I meant is the tack they do actually make there. My friend used to run a training business and has a ton of stuff, mostly eventing tack, that she wants to unload without a lot of hassle now that she’s down to 1 horse.

We’ve bought a lot of tack from them. But I don’t think any of it was made by them. Plan on making a visit sometime this week and will check it out.

We are downsizing also. Have a lot of stuff that needs to find new homes. I don’t want a lot of hassle either.

If you don’t mind, let me know what you find out. Both my friend (who I’m asking for) & I are over an hour away, so it’s not easy to make a casual trip.

Majority of the tack they sell at bartville is made by them. They have made an addition to the building which is an isle of the cheaper tack they don’t make. As many people know, bartville is known for their finely crafted leather work - and that nunn finer even comes in to buy the bartville made tack to sell as their own

I’ve never seen or heard anything to indicate that they buy tack back, and if they did I can’t imagine that they would pay enough to make it any better than any consignment shop (since they would have to buy it cheap enough to resell at enough of a profit to make it worthwhile.)
