Bathmat that repels dog hair OR stands up to repeat washing

My young Aussie will lay on the bathmat (which is actually just a hand towel right now) whenever I’m in the bathroom, including when I shower. No, I don’t want to make him stop . But I need a bath mat that I can stand on without my feet getting all hairy. So either something that will hold the hair, repel the hair, or something I can wash a lot. In the past, the little grippy bottoms always shred after so many washings.

Towels. My two boys do the same thing. I usually use a towel to dry off one day and hang up to dry until the next time. Then I use that towel as my bath mat and use a fresh towel every time. I also have a small bathroom and hate how cluttered a bath mat makes it feel. A little extra laundry but it makes the boys happy to get to be close to me since after work the first place I go is the shower.

Hmm. I suppose folding a full towel in half means less laundry, because I can fold it in half and refold it and use another day!

I was vaguely considering trying one of those kitchen comfort mats as a bath mat. They aren’t absorbent but more comfortable than stepping out onto the tile floor. I guess I could swipe it dry with my bathtowel after I am done drying myself.

Ikea do fantastic bathmats that wash and dry in no time at all and are non-slip. We stack a couple as dogs’ beds, they’re useful in the back of the car for dogs, we use them as bedside mats, mats in front of the kitchen sink, and we even use them as bathmats! They’re called Toftbo

I just use a towel like bathmat…like the ones in hotels. No rubber backing to shred.
