Belissimo M being sold

I am sorry for Hayley Beresford. She got shafted out of representing Australian in London, and now she is losing the ride on B.

I hope the horse lands well, and that he continues to be available to breeders. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. I am sure he has a very hefty price tag - hope he doesn’t end up with Gal/Glock.

Why?

IMO, Gal doesn’t deserve a lot of the hate that he gets. Everyone has their critics, that’s just a fact of life.

That being said, if Gal can get another upper level horse, kudos to him!

According to the Homepage of Sportpferde Schmidt this is a rumour and the press reports are not correct ! No sale planned.

Because they aren’t particularly interested in breeding, or in supporting breeders.

And I don’t think the horse is Gal’s style of ride - he is not the kind of super fancy, flashy leg mover that Gal likes.

Ah, interesting. What about him being pulled from Hayley? Is that part correct?

I tend to view these “rumors” as either leaks, premature announcements, or water-testing. Is this my entrenched cynicism talking?

The rumour may have been caused because Family Elmerhaus (sp.) who have shares or own him full (?), are under strong suspicion to have taken out of a company they are working for 4.9 Million € …

I am right there with you, sister! “Fishing” is another way to describe it! You cast out the line and see what nibbles you get.

And Eurodressage has not changed its story about Hayley stating that the horse had been taken somewhere to be sold. The owners may be denying it, but Hayley apparently has reason to believe that is the case. Perhaps that is what the owners told Hayley and then changed their minds. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Similiar to Totilas’s story initially. First the reports that he was sold, then the denials, then the “he’s sold” announcement.

Article from Chris Hector at THM: http://www.horsemagazine.com/thm/2013/04/bye-bye-belissimo/

re chris hector article:

“Sportpferde Schmidt, Belissimo’s home where Beresford rents stables, is dealing with financial issues and the entire stud is at stake.”

that is a fact.
question remains, however, if the breeding stallions at stud (incl bel) are indeed part of the bankruptcy assets or not.
a question that still needs to be answered by the lawyer’s in charge. no public information available yet.

Any new news?

Update it wasnt rumors. Hope that this wont make his semen more difficult to get. Or expensive for that matter…

How many people are thinking it’s a good time to buy a Mega Millions ticket and hope the universe smiles upon you?

I just love this stallion, hope he ends up somewhere that will continue to promote and compete him.

Ok, let’s start a pool on how much he’ll sell for.

Any guesses?

Australia just had Stedinger imported … wish someone with deep pockets would snap up Bello for down under as well … I would have my breeding for this season all sorted out

Stedinger is on a one year lease to Shoobridge in Australia, but there is an option to buy, and not too many stallions that go to Australia ever find their way back to Europe. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Stedinger remain in Australia - it is SO expensive to ship them back, and he wasn’t getting the number of mares they were hoping for in either Germany or Sweden (where he was on lease prior to the Australia deal).

Bellisimo is still of great interest to German breeders. My guess is he will remain in Europe - most likely in Germany or possibly Denmark.

Jeez I must go around with my head in the sand. I did not know Stedinger was coming to Oz! Exciting times indeed.

I too like Bellisimo and would love to use him but I can’t get semen here in NZ even with the previous Oz connections. Annoying.
