Billy Turner was asked yesterday on Fox if he thought AP would win the Belmont. He said that would be the “kiss of death.” He commented that Seattle Slew was the only colt he knew for sure would win the TC and he knew that immediately after SS record setting Champagne Stakes. He continued by saying that he hadn’t gotten anything right since then.
Billy Turner was so funny talking about how he tried to get the jockey (or exercise boy) to not go so fast on Seattle Slew when Slew was just starting out at the tracks.
And for any one interested, seems that the Pharoah’s jockey has some women problems, 2 of them. Per the NYPost.
Hoping that all the horses get around the track safely. Raining at the track, so it might be sloppy by late afternoon. Hope all finish without injury.

So we’ll get to see a dog riding a horse?
If we don’t get a Triple Crown winner this time, I am absolutely quitting
getting excited about this race…not since Real Quiet got pipped.
Poor sport, I know.
What does “one aluminum pad” mean??
I got over to Belmont on the first train, made my souvenir wager, bought my souvenirs and even got an autographed poster of the triple crown legends from the 70’s, Penny Chenery was there, Steve Cauthen, Billy Turner, Jean C…
Best of luck to AP!!!

I can’t believe I did this, but I just put money on AP to win… and it’s not raining…[/QUOTE]
Yup…
“Belmont, 11th race, $2 to win on #5”
Good luck to everyone and fingers crossed for a day of history!
What does “one aluminum pad” mean??
I believe they’re referring to the plate American Pharoah has been wearing on his left front. Could be wrong.

How much do you want for that poster?

Thank you for your answer … but: wearing a ‘pad’ (they didn’t term as a ‘shoe’) on only one foot??

Semantics, maybe? I’m not sure. But, yeah, it’s only on one foot. He’s worn it since at least February. It’s on under the shoe.

This has to be the cutest photo ever! This is the stable pony, Smokey, and AP. Gotta love the stable pony!!!
I know next to nothing about betting on these things, or betting in general but would like to place a small wager. I will not be at the race today (waited too long to buy a ticket and would not be able to stay for the race anyway due to work) so my question is, is there somewhere online I could do it? Not looking to spend a lot of money.

Is anyone else at Belmont Park who got one of the posters signed by Peggy Chenery et al? The group was only there from 11:30-1:30 and they only handed out 500 of them.
Watching and totally nervous and excited and hopeful.
Hey look! Chris McCarron!
